Privacy Policy
Meowmensingh is a volunteer-run community project. This policy explains what little data we collect and why.
What We Collect
- Submitted photos
- Stored on Cloudinary's CDN. EXIF metadata (including GPS coordinates embedded in photos) is automatically stripped on upload. Photos are screened for inappropriate content twice: once on your own device before upload, and again on our server before publishing. No photo ever leaves your device for moderation.
- Location coordinates
- The approximate map pin location you provide is stored. The exact coordinates are never shared publicly.
- Description and contact info
- Optional fields you provide. Contact information is displayed publicly if you choose to include it.
- IP address
- Used only for rate limiting and spam prevention, stored as a hash. Raw IPs are not retained.
What We Don't Collect
- No user accounts or personal registration
- No cookies beyond essential functionality
- Google Analytics, if enabled, for aggregate usage measurement
- No third-party advertising
Data Retention
Cat listings remain on the platform until they are marked as adopted or gone by an admin, or automatically removed after 60 days without reconfirmation. You can request removal of your content via the Report page.
